WHO WE ARE
We publish books, proceedings and papers for the American Astronautical Society about Mars Exploration, Space Travel, Planetary Missions, JPL, Mission Control, NASA, Astronomy, Astronautics, Science, Astrophysics, Spaceflight Dynamics, the History of space research, manned missions, planetary studies, satellite technologies, man-machine interaction, effects of cosmic radiation, colonization, rocketry & rockets, shuttles and space stations, interstellar probes, and much more.
Univelt, Incorporated is a publishing company whose primary function is to publish all American Astronautical Society books and conference proceedings.
In addition to our primary function, we also:
- Publish a few selected titles under our own Univelt, Incorporated Imprint, primarily books dealing with astronautics and space flight, but also including two small but popular books on First Aid for Dogs.
- Distribute books dealing with astronautics, space flight, and other space-related themes published by entities such as NASA and Apogee Books.
- Both distribute and publish books for other space-oriented organizations, including the National Space Society's International Space Development Conference (ISDC) Proceedings, the U.S. Space Foundations's National Space Symposium Proceedings Reports, and the proceedings of the Mars Society.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES
Please Note: shipping charges are subject to change without notice.When placing an order, please indicate which type of shipping you would prefer.
DOMESTIC (U.S.) SHIPPING OPTIONS:
Media Mail: Orders will be charged $5.00 for the first book, plus $2.00 for the second book and $1.00 for each additional book.
UPS/USPS: Orders will be shipped by either UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail at our discretion. Orders will be charged $13.00 for the first book, plus $4.00 for the second book and $3.00 for each additional book. Most orders should arrive within six business days of shipment.
INTERNATIONAL (NON-U.S.) SHIPPING OPTIONS:
International Orders will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail International service. Orders will be charged $40.00 for the first book, plus $12.00 for the second book and $10.00 for each additional book.
We may offer a discounted shipping cost on certain orders; if your order qualifies for a discount, we will send you an email after the order is placed to let you know and reduce the charge to your Paypal or credit card. If you wish to know in advance whether your order qualifies for a shipping discount, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the list of titles you are interested in purchasing and your shipping address.
Books can be shipped via Express Mail in the U.S., or via Express International Mail for overseas orders, or by special courier, if requested. Charges will vary depending on the order and request. Please contact us for more information.
Our warehouse is located in Escondido, California (North San Diego County). If you live nearby you can arrange to pick up your order directly by contacting us.
IMPORTANT: Multi-volume sets count as multiple books; for example, a three-volume set will be charged the shipping fee for three books. If a book is especially heavy or large, it may be counted as two books. Please read the website carefully. If a book will be charged additional shipping fees, it will be noted on the website.
We reserve the right to refuse shipment to certain countries.
California Residents Only:
If you live in California, your sales tax cost is already included in the listed shipping fees. You will not be charged any additional amount above the standard shipping and handling charges.
DISCOUNTS (Univelt, Inc.)
Individual members of the American Astronautical Society (AAS), the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the British Interplanetary Society (BIS), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft und Raumfahrt (DGLR), the National Space Society (NSS), the Space Studies Institute (SSI), the Space Foundation (SF), The Planetary Society, The Mars Society, or any International Astronautical Federation (IAF) society member are entitled to a 25% discount off the list prices for the Advances in the Astronautical Sciences Series, the AAS Science and Technology Series, the AAS History Series, the AAS Microfiche Series and other special AAS volumes.
Authors are entitled to a 50% discount off the list prices on any volumes in any of the above-mentioned series in which their article(s) appear.
If ordering by fax, email, or phone, please indicate if you qualify for any discounts when placing your order. Please indicate which volume(s) your article(s) appear in for author discount rates, or which organization you belong to for member discount rates.
If you qualify for one of the above-mentioned discounts and you wish to place an order online, please contact us via phone, fax, or email for a discount code. Discount codes are good for a single order only; you must obtain a new discount code for each order you wish to place. Please indicate which organization you are a member of or which volume(s) your article(s) appear in when applying for discount codes.
Discounts apply to the following Univelt published titles ONLY: Advances in the Astronautical Sciences Series, the AAS Science and Technology Series, the AAS History Series, the AAS Microfiche Series and other special AAS volumes. Discounts do NOT apply to any non-AAS books (all those not mentioned above), unless specifically indicated. If placing an online order using a discount code, please place separate orders for Univelt-published AAS titles and non-AAS titles, or call, fax, or email us your order instead. Orders with incorrectly applied discount codes will be canceled and refunded.
All orders, with the exception of standing orders, must be prepaid. We accept cash, checks and money orders in U.S. funds. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, Paypal, and Google Checkout.
Standing orders for serial publications are accepted. When a standing order is placed by you or your organization, each new volume of a series is automatically invoiced and shipped to you as soon as it becomes available. Re-ordering is not necessary. You may cancel your standing order at any time.

Next to every title available on our site, you will see a button. Clicking this button places the title into your electronic shopping cart. If a title you are interested in is not available for purchase online, please contact us by phone, fax or email to place your order.
You may pay for online orders via Paypal, Google Checkout, Visa, Mastercard, or check. Paypal is a very secure method of payment, and no longer requires you to sign up for an account with them in order to use their service. Note: in the case of certain Paypal methods, such as e-checks, there may be a delay before we receive the funds. Please be aware that in all cases we will not ship until funds are received and verified.
When paying for orders with a Visa or Mastercard, the credit card information you enter is encrypted and transmitted to a secure online server. Our system then notifies us that an order has been placed, whereupon we collect the information directly from the secure server and verify the order, then charge your card. At no time is your information visible to a third party. If you place your order on a weekend or holiday, please be aware that there may be a delay before your card is actually processed. We will not process your card until your order is ready to ship.
ORDER DIGITAL COPIES OF PAPERS ONLINE
We now offer the option to purchase digital copies of individual papers online. The digital document will be delivered to the email address you provide in your order, so please ensure that this address can receive large files. The document will be in PDF format, which can be accessed with Adobe Reader or other free PDF reading software, such as Foxit Reader. You should receive your file via email within two business days of placing your order. E-MAIL YOUR ORDER
Please feel free to email us with any inquiries or concerns. Email is one of the very best ways to reach us. However, please be aware that using Email is not a secure mode of transmission. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS
Univelt DOES NOT accept unsolicited manuscripts.
The AAS conferences publish bound sets of printed proceedings for personal, institutional, and library usage. To preserve consistency in the final printed proceedings, all authors adhere to the AAS conference proceedings format. Papers that do not generally conform to the conference proceedings format are omitted from the final proceedings unless a waiver is recommended from your session chair and accepted by the technical editors and conference chairmen.
Members of the AAS have drafted the electronic templates below for MSWord and LaTex users. We recommend that you refer to and use these templates to accurately submit your conference paper.
